Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex is the latest site to transition to WMS, a modern replacement for the Distribution Standard System that DLA uses to conduct warehousing, depot and transportation functions. WMS helps users accomplish daily tasks more efficiently and increases auditability.

Representatives from DLA Headquarters, DLA Aviation, DLA Distribution, DLA Disposition Services and AFMC walked through WMS process maps, training and discussions on the nuances of the Air Force's three ALCs. The rehearsal drill allowed the team to walk through scenarios to identify as-is and future processes once WMS is deployed at the ALCs.

"The walkthroughs of Warner Robins' receipt, issue and transportation warehouses were beneficial, providing attendees visualization and insights into local conditions and reference back to our process maps," said Air Force Col. Jason Kalin, DLA's Air Force national account manager.

The Warner Robins ALC is scheduled to transition to the new system in October.
