New renter protection rights have been enacted by the Board of Supervisors, including prohibiting landlords from evicting tenants for nonpayment unless more than one month of rent is overdue, prohibiting evictions during a declared emergency, and requiring landlords to provide tenants with information about their rights in English and Spanish when asking a tenant to vacate.
