US-23 repaving in Alpena, Alcona counties starts Sept. 9

ALPENA, Mich. -The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $3.8 million to resurface 12.2 miles of US-23 from south of Island Drive in Alpena County to south of Hubert Road in northern Alcona County.

This project will include new pavement markings and rumble strips. The work will extend the pavement service life and improve ride quality.
