City of Norman earns recognition for excellence in Financial Reporting by the GFOA

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to City of Norman for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2023. The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

"We continue to take great pride in the fine work of Clint Mercer, CPA, and our accounting staff in living up to our goal of being completely transparent in reporting on the finances of the City of Norman and our related Authorities and Trusts," said Anthony Francisco, City of Norman Finance Director. "We appreciate this national recognition of this commitment."

City staff received notice of the award on August 14, 2024. Copies of City budgets and financial reports are available and can be accessed by all at Normanok.gov.
