Sergeant Breeding, Detective Jackson, Officer Peek, Officer Lewin, and Detective Pascual

Sergeant Breeding, Detective Jackson, Officer Peek, Officer Lewin, and Detective Pascual were awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and Chief's Commendation Medal. Here's the story behind their recognition:

On October 5th, 2022, the team responded to a shooting with multiple victims. While attending to the victims, officers were alerted to another shooting about half a mile away. Two officers pursued the suspect, attempting to disable the vehicle, but the suspect continued fleeing recklessly toward the original scene. Other officers positioned themselves to confront the suspect, who drove directly toward the officers and EMTs. The vehicle crashed into a ditch, and the suspect refused to surrender. Officers confronted the suspect, bringing the situation to a safe resolution.

Meanwhile, another officer noticed a terrified teenage girl near the wreckage. The officer immediately shielded her from danger, reassured her, and stayed by her side, putting her safety above all else.

This remarkable display of bravery, quick thinking, and commitment to protecting the community earned them these well-deserved honors. Thank you for your professionalism and dedication to keeping our community safe.
