Washington County Route A bridge over Richwoods Creek now open

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo - The Richwoods Creek Bridge on Washington County Route A is now open. Construction crews completed the new bridge and reopened the roadway today, Aug. 1, 2024.

The contractor, Joe's Bridge & Grading Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, closed Route A over Richwoods Creek on May 28 for a bridge replacement project. The bridge, built in 1944, was in poor condition and needed to be replaced. The new bridge is wider with up-to-date engineering.

The $1,423,373 contract for this project also included the replacement of the Cyclone Hollow Bridge on Route A, which was completed in May 2024, just before the closure of the Richwoods Creek Bridge.
