NDFB Directors elected

Two new members were elected to the NDFB Board of Directors, and three current members were re-elected during 82nd NDFB Annual Meeting activities in Bismarck over the weekend.

The NDFB Board of Directors is comprised of the president, elected at large, and individuals elected from each of the nine NDFB Districts, the Promotion and Education Committee chair and the Young Farmer and Rancher Committee chair.

John Jacobson was elected to a three-year term representing District 2. Jacobson and his family farm near Hatton, N.D. and have a cow-calf operation and raise wheat, soybeans, corn, and hay crops. The District 2 Director represents Farm Bureau members in Barnes, Cass, Griggs, Steele, and Traill counties.

Samantha Froelich has been elected as the new Chairwoman of the Promotion and Education (P&E) Committee. She will serve a two-year term on the NDFB Board of Directors, representing the P&E Committee. Froelich lives in Bismarck, N.D., and works for First International Bank & Trust in Bismarck as a credit analyst assistant manager. She is also involved with her extended family's commercial cow-calf and registered Quarter Horse operation.

Re-elected as the District 4 State Director is Jason Skaar. Skaar is a resident of Hampden, N.D. and the fourth generation on the farm. Jason and his wife, Danielle, have a small grain farm and grow wheat, canola and soybeans. As the District 4 Director, he represents NDFB members in Rolette, Towner, Pierce, Ramsey, Benson and Eddy counties.

Keith Rockeman of Grassy Butte has been re-elected to represent District 8. Although retired, Rockeman continues to keep a few horses on the family ranch, where his son, Joshua, now manages the operation, raising registered Polled Herefords. As the District 8 director, he represents Farm Bureau members in Burke, Divide, McKenzie, Mountrail and Williams counties.

Re-elected as Young Farmer and Rancher Committee chairman is Chance Kitzman of Upham, N.D. The chair of the YF&R Committee holds a two-year position on the NDFB Board of Directors. Kitzman and his wife, Nicole, raise corn, soybeans, oats, and canola.

Other NDFB Directors are President Daryl Lies of Douglas, District 1 Director Craig Vaughn of Cavalier, District 3 Director and NDFB Vice President Val Wagner of Monango, District 5 Director Tim Schoenhard of Steele, District 6 Director Brian Nordmark of Bottineau, District 7 Director Lucas Lang of Sterling and Chris Reindel of Dickinson representing District 9.
