Congressman Scott Perry Congratulates 10th District 2024 Art Competition Winner

Today in D.C., U.S. Representative Scott Perry (PA-10) hosted this year's Congressional Art Competition winner, Grisheela Baniya, to celebrate her artistic talent and that of other students in Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District.

"South-Central Pennsylvania boasts students of many backgrounds and talents. I'm honored to congratulate and host Grisheela in D.C. this week in recognition of her hard work," said Rep. Perry. "The Congressional Art Competition allows us to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the Nation. Congratulations to Grisheela and all who participated."

Grisheela Baniya is a rising Senior at Central Dauphin East High School. Her winning entry, The Heart Unraveling, is a representation of the human experience and depicts meaningful connections to family and friends. Throughout the process, Baniya was supported by her Central Dauphin East High art teacher, Mr. Dave Sells.

The Congressional Art Competition provides Members of Congress the opportunity to showcase the creative talents of high school students in their districts. It's open to all high school students, and the winning art from each participating congressional district is displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. Since its inception in 1982, more than 700,000 high school students have participated in the Competition.
