Read Your Eligibility Letter Carefully
If you live in Boone, Hancock, Kanawha, Marshall, Ohio, Roane, Wetzel and Wood counties and were affected by the April 11-12, 2024, storms, flooding, landslides or mudslides, read your FEMA eligibility decision letter carefully. If you have questions, visit a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) so we can help you with your next steps.
Visiting a recovery center allows you to get personalized, one-on-one help from a FEMA team member. Visit fema.gov/drc to find your nearest one.
Disaster Recovery Centers are located at:
Boone County Disaster Recovery Center |
Madison City Hall 255 Washington Ave. Madison, WV 25130 Hours of operation: Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Closed Sundays |
Roane County Mobile Disaster Recovery Center |
Old National Guard Armory Parking Lot 206 E Main St. Spencer, WV 25276 Hours of operation: Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Closed on Sundays |

An eligibility letter explains your application status and what you can do next. It is important to read the letter fully and carefully because it will include the amount of assistance FEMA may provide to you and information on the appropriate use of these funds.
It will also state if you need to submit additional information or supporting documentation for FEMA to continue to process your application. Examples of missing documentation may include:
