Help is Available at Disaster Recovery Centers

A Disaster Recovery Center is a one-stop shop where Tennessee residents can get information and advice about available assistance from state, federal and community organizations. These centers are accessible to people with disabilities and those with access and functional needs.

Centers are staffed with specialists from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration and may have representatives from other organizations that can help you recover.

These specialists can clarify information you received from FEMA or other agencies. They also can explain the rental assistance available to homeowners and renters, submit your documents to a FEMA processing center, and scan or copy new information or documents needed for your case files.

Recovery center staff are there to guide you to resources offered by the State of Tennessee, FEMA and other federal agencies and nonprofits. You can connect with them if you have disaster-related needs and learn what kind of help is available for removing damaged debris, belongings and other materials from your property. Staff can also answer questions about insurance programs.

SBA representatives can assist homeowners, renters and businesses of any size complete their disaster loan application, accept documents and provide updates on their application status. All recovery centers are accessible to people with disabilities and others with access and functional needs. They have assistive technology, accessible parking, ramps and restrooms. American Sign Language and remote video interpreting are available by request.

FEMA and SBA are also supporting Multi-Agency Resource Centers offered by the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency. You can visit these sites, to meet with representatives from the Tennessee Department of Human Services, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and Department of Safety and Homeland Security-Driver Services; the American Red Cross; Veterans Services and other state and community organizations.

These state centers are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET Monday to Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. ET Sunday at:
