Attorney General Alan Wilson Announces Arrest Of Mount Pleasant Nurse Charged With Stealing Drugs

(COLUMBIA, S.C.) - South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced that his office's Vulnerable Adults and Medicaid Provider Fraud unit (VAMPF) and DHEC's Bureau of Drug Control have arrested Heather Leigh Smith, 44 years old, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., on six counts of Exploitation of a Vulnerable Adult {43-35-0085 (D)} and six counts of Theft of a Controlled Substance, first offense {44-53-0365(A)}. Smith was booked into the Georgetown County Detention Center on June 24, 2024.
