2024 Winbond Zero Carbon Family Day: Celebrating the Third Consecutive Year of a Carbon Neutral Corporate Event at Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village

Nantou, Taiwan, October 19 2024 - Winbond Electronics Corporation (TSE: 2344) today holds its grand "2024 Zero-Carbon Family Day" at Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village in Nantou. Themed "Breathe Green, Mobilize for Sustainability," this year's event gathers over 7,000 Winbond employees and their families from across Taiwan. This marks the third consecutive year that Winbond hosts the zero-carbon family day, aiming to integrate environmental awareness with family engagement through a series of eco-friendly activities that allow employees and their families to experience and practice sustainable lifestyles together.

To further embrace the "zero-carbon" concept, Winbond arranges shuttle buses to transport employees from various regions, reducing carbon emissions. The company also offsets the entire event's carbon footprint by purchasing carbon credits. In addition, electronic tickets are used to minimize paper consumption, and stainless-steel utensils are distributed as a welcome gift, encouraging employees to adopt eco-friendly habits in their daily lives. Through these initiatives, Winbond inspires both employees and their families to actively participate in sustainable development and promote the message of green living.

Since 2021, Winbond has actively engaged in domestic reforestation and conservation projects, supporting the "Breathe Green" initiative. In addition to tree planting efforts at its Kaohsiung facility, the company has collaborated with the Forestry Bureau and the National Property Administration to reforest over 25 hectares of national forest land in areas such as Chiayi, Tainan, and Yilan, with plans to plant over 40,000 trees. This ongoing effort reflects Winbond's nature-based approach to sustainability.
