ELEVATED RISKS FOR WNV & EEE IN THE CITY OF BROCKTON

DPH HAS JUST RAISED THE RISK LEVEL TO SEVERE FOR EEE (EASTERN EQUINE ENCEPHALITIS) IN THE ENTIRE PLYMOUTH COUNTY, WHICH INCLUDES BROCKTON

THURSDAY, AUGUST 29, 2024

THEREFORE, we are recommending the residents of Brockton to take the following measures.

To avoid exposure to mosquito bites:

  • Residents are recommended to use mosquito repellents with an EPA-registered active ingredient
  • Restrict outdoor activities by avoiding peak mosquito activity at dusk and dawn
  • If residents need to be outside during these time periods, it is recommended that they wear long sleeve clothes to avoid exposing their skin
  • make sure to empty any container with a stagnant body of water near and around your home. Thank you.
