Laurel Fire

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a structure fire that was reported on December 8, 2024 shortly before 8:00 PM in the 200 block of West 7th Street Laurel, Delaware.

The Laurel Fire Department and assisting mutual aid fire companies arrived on scene and found an outbuilding and adjacent vacant, unoccupied dwelling on fire and extinguished the same. There were no reported injuries.

Delaware Deputy State Fire Marshal's responded to the scene and conducted an origin and cause investigation. It was determined that the fire was intentionally started at the outbuilding. Damage is estimated at $20,000.
