NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (October 30, 2024) - Two New Brunswick Police Officers are being awarded with departmental commendations for their exceptional bravery and dedication to duty.
On Oct. 16, Police Officer Richard Reed was presented with the Life Saving Award for his actions on April 15, when he, along with Edison police officers, entered the Raritan River to save an individual who had jumped from the Morris Goodkind Bridge. The individual was successfully pulled from the waters and survived his injuries.
Police Officer Andy Rodriguez was presented with the Meritorious Service Award for his selfless actions on Oct. 5, when he arrested an individual armed with a gun who was also found to be a suspect in an attempted homicide.
The City salutes these two fine officers for their bravery and commitment to service.
