City to host ‘What’s Up Boulder’ event to connect community members with staff, discuss plans and projects

The City of Boulder invites our community to "What's Up Boulder," an event to have fun and chat with staff about current and future plans and projects across the city. "What's Up Boulder" will take place on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 1-4 p.m. at East Boulder Community Park between the soccer field and East Age Well Center.

We'll have free dessert, live performances, child-friendly activities in addition to more than 20 informational tables or stations.

"We wanted to consolidate some of our engagement efforts about plans and projects that we're working on across the city," said City Manager Nuria Rivera-Vandermyde. "This fun event helps make that possible, so let's 'shape' our future together!"

Planned activities include:

  • See and interact with a fire vehicle, a snow plow and a police vehicle
  • Free gelato popsicles from HipPOP food truck
  • Music and performances by Elisa Garcia Trio, Danza Estrella de Guadalupe, and more!
  • Craft tables
  • Foam party - bring your swimsuit!
  • Bicycle obstacle course and helmet giveaway provided by Boulder Community Health

Multi-lingual city staff will be present during the event to help with any interpretation needs.

Parking for "What's Up Boulder" will be available at East Boulder Community Park and Off-leash dog park parking off 55th St. Please do not park in the adjacent residential neighborhood. Community members are encouraged to take alternative transportation to the event as there will be a bike valet available.
