Tell us about the places you've called home and how they've shaped the person you are today.

The very first place I would call home is where I was born and raised, which was Washington, D.C. As a child I was taught morals by my parents. My parents made sure I was brought up in church. It was a joy to grow up in church as a baby through adulthood. It has shaped my character throughout the years and taught me to be a woman of integrity.

I also love the Smithsonian museums in D.C. I would visit the museums as a child with my mother and I continue to visit various museums during the year for updated exhibits and events.

What schools or institutions have you attended, and what unique learning experiences, formal or otherwise, have contributed to your personal and professional growth?

I graduated from Eastern Senior High School in Washington, D.C. I also graduated from the University of Maryland University College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Management Studies. I would keep a schedule book each semester to help me organize my assignments and prepare for exams. I continue to keep a schedule book for my daily appointments and activities in my personal life to remain organized. Keeping this habit throughout the years has helped me successfully meet deadlines in the workplace.

How has being a part of NATCA's staff influenced your perspective on labor unions and aviation?

Being a part of NATCA's staff has influenced my perspective on labor unions as I see the labor union representatives going to meetings on Capitol Hill, fighting for better pay, working conditions, and safety in the air.

If you could share with NATCA's members a little-known thing about being a member of NATCA's staff, what would it be?

We take our job very seriously. NATCA's staff work very hard to ensure that the needs of our members are met.

Is there a book, movie, or show you recently enjoyed and would recommend?

I enjoyed the following shows at the Kennedy Center and would recommend: "Alvin Ailey Dance Theater," "Hadestown," "Hamilton," "The Lion King," the National Symphony Orchestra performances, and "Shen Yun. I also recently saw "& Juliet" and "The Wiz" on Broadway in New York City, which were awesome.

What's your go-to method for unwinding after a busy day?

I love puzzle books, watching Wheel of Fortune and cooking shows. Also, I drink my favorite tea to help me relax.

If you could meet any historical figure, who would it be and what would you ask them?

Mathematician Mary Winston Jackson, called a "Human Computer" while employed at the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), and became NASA's first black female engineer in 1958. Her story was in the movie "Hidden Figures" in 2016. I would ask her to host a workshop at work to share her testimony and how she overcame many obstacles in life.
