Antitrust Partner Kevin Yingling joins Freshfields in Washington, DC

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (Freshfields) announced today that Kevin Yingling has joined the firm's antitrust practice, based in the Washington DC office. A well-known antitrust lawyer in the U.S. tech sector with more than 25 years of experience, Kevin will focus his practice on competition law including merger control, antitrust investigations and counseling.

Kevin joins Freshfields from Google where he spent the last 15 years. Prior to his experience working in-house, Kevin served in the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice and in private practice.

"Kevin's experience reflects a well-rounded antitrust practice and an ability to provide the kind of sophisticated competition-centered advice on mergers and conduct matters that our clients demand," said U.S. Managing Partner Sarah Solum. "We've been fortunate to see firsthand his talent and knowledge in the space, and we're excited to continue that partnership with him now as a member of our firm."

Kevin stated: "Freshfields boasts an outstanding team of attorneys on an unparalleled global platform. In my previous roles, I've had the opportunity to work with them and benefit from their expertise. Joining the firm as a partner enables me to use my experiences to contribute to the exceptional work that defines Freshfields."

Freshfields' Global Head of Antitrust Alastair Chapman added: "Our antitrust and competition practice is stacked with notable lawyers from a variety of backgrounds to efficiently handle the high caliber matters that our discerning clients bring our way. Kevin's addition to our US team further strengthens the quality of our offering to clients both regionally and globally."

Kevin's appointment follows the arrival of former FTC Commissioner Christine Wilson in Washington DC and former CMA Senior Director of Mergers Colin Raftery in London; antitrust litigation partners Heather Lamberg and Justina Sessions in Washington DC and Silicon Valley, respectively; and competition partner Charlotte Colin-Dubuisson in Paris.

With more than 60 partners and over 300 other antitrust and regulatory lawyers based in the US, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, Freshfields is the global market leader in all aspects of competition law, including mergers, cartel investigations and stand-alone antitrust litigation.
