CRA Annual Report: The Redevelopment Roundup

Published on Blog: September 03rd, 2024

The Pompano Beach CRA has created a stunning new publication showcasing the important redevelopment projects in both the East and Northwest CRA Districts during the prior year. Simply driving around the City, it's exciting to see areas transformed, new businesses opening, and pride in our City soaring. To learn the backstory about these projects and how our CRA has been diligently working to update our parks, beautify neighborhoods, and attract the type of business investment that will help keep our taxes stable, this magazine, Journey through Pompano Beach is a must read!

A few highlights include the remarkable updates to public spaces, including the tremendous revitalization of Annie Adderly Gillis Park and the creation of the award-winning Old Town's Backyard. These areas provide our community with beautiful backdrops for gatherings with friends and family, while enjoying the glorious outdoors.

Providing our kids with afterschool opportunities was a guiding force in the creation of the Development Agreement with the ETA Nu Chapter of the Omega Psi Fraternity, Inc. This educational facility, along with the land, has now been purchased by the fraternity and their work is a source of inspiration to the community.

The heart of Pompano Beach jumpstarted its transformation with a pivotal new project, Mayla Pompano-the first market rate residential development of its kind within the East CRA District Boundaries. Already a popular pick for tenants seeking a sophisticated lifestyle, Mayla Pompano's development occurred thanks to the Pompano Beach CRA's Real Estate Development Accelerator Program (REDA) program, which attracted premier developer Grover-Corlew to invest in an area that had been overlooked for years.

And our Downtown continues its progress with the addition of new residential mixed-use properties, including Old Town Square and the coming Old Town Square II. While the area's growth as a destination continues with exciting places to eat and unwind including South Kitchen Bar & Bar Kitchen, the Soulful Steep and The Vault, which is currently under construction.
