ODOT seeks public comment on Lawrance SR 140 drainage improvements

State Route 140 Drainage Improvements

CHILLICOTHE - As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation-District 9's Planning Department, the district's Environmental Office is seeking public input for a drainage improvement project on S.R. 140 in Lawrence County.

LAW-140-0.00 (PID 119781) The proposed project will address flooding on SR 140 in Lawrence County. The improvements include the replacement of an existing roadway culvert and vertical profile revisions.

The project will require approximately 0.383 acres of permanent right-of-way.

No homes or businesses will be removed by the project.

The funding for the project is 80% Federal and 20% State.

The roadway will be closed for the duration of the project. The detour will be determined at a later date.

The environmental commitment date is 5/7/2025. The project is currently expected to be awarded 4/1/2026.
