DALLAS - Luis Hernández, a former soccer player with the Mexican National Team, will visit students at Obadiah Knight Elementary School. Part of MexTour's Copa Kin: Read to Win Challenge, this initiative promotes bilingual literacy and supports the local community through a shared passion for sports. The event will feature a pep rally, story time, and a chance for students to play soccer with their guest. Media is invited to attend the event at 9 a.m., Monday, Sept. 9.

Dallas ISD school leading the way in cutting-edge technology
Robert T. Hill Middle School is leading innovation at Dallas ISD with its pioneering use of technology to reduce disruptions and enhance safety. The school implemented a digital hall pass, which in addition to a phone-free policy, reduced class disruptions, boosted academic performance, and strengthened campus security by preventing bullying. The new technology gained strong support from parents, positioning Hill Middle School as a trailblazer in Dallas ISD's commitment to student success.

Cool Tropics showcases Dallas ISD talent
Miriam Monreal, a graduate of Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women's Leadership School, was announced as the winner of Dallas ISD and Cool Tropics' district-wide nutrition art contest in April. Her artwork will be featured on Cool Tropics Paradise punch fruit slush packaging, available in school cafeterias nationwide this month. She also received a $1,000 scholarship to further her education.
