Firms Selected to Compete for Contract to Build the Inner Harbor Seawater Desalination Plant

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - At today's regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council voted to move forward with Seawater Desalination Treatment Plant Project initiatives.

Today's actions included:

  • Approving the shortlist of construction firms that would bid on the project
  • The execution of all documents necessary to enter into a contract with the top ranked design build contractor
  • The amendment to the contract with Freese and Nichols for pre-construction phase services
  • The payment of the income tax component contribution to American Electric Power

These approvals mark a significant step forward in securing a sustainable drought proof water supply for the future of Corpus Christi and the region.
