City of Hollywood voters will see 6 questions on their ballot regarding amendments to the City Charter. The City Charter establishes a charter review committee every six years to propose amendments to the City Commission, which is required to place these proposals on the ballot. The committee has proposed changes to Articles 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, and 13 of the Charter. As a result, six questions will appear on the municipal ballot for the Hollywood electorate to vote on in the upcoming election.

Important Notice:

When creating the language that voters see on the ballot, state law limits the number of words to 75 words or less. As a result of this law, the approved language for Article 13 that voters will see on the ballot is incorrect and does not meet the intent of the Review Committee. To address this error, the City Commission has moved forward with the approval of a City Ordinance that will automatically enact the recommendation of the Charter Review Committee as if it was already passed by voters. This change will then remain in effect until it can be reconsidered by voters during the next general election scheduled for November 3, 2026.
