World Tourism Day Celebrated in September

In 1979, the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization established the World Tourism Day, which is celebrated annually on 27 September.

The purpose of the holiday is to promote tourism, highlight its contribution to the economy of the world community, and develop ties between peoples of different countries. It is intended to draw the attention of the international community to the importance of tourism and its social, cultural and economic significance.

In order to develop the common tourist space of the Commonwealth countries, the IPA CIS implements important social projects.

One of them is the International Tourism Forum Travel Hub "Commonwealth". This year it will be held for the first time in an off-site format on 19-20 October in Dushanbe (Tajikistan). The main topic of discussions will be the staffing of the CIS hospitality industry.

The events will be attended by MPs, representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of the CIS countries, as well as international organizations, specialized associations, educational institutions and businesses.

In addition, the Assembly works systematically to provide a legal framework for the economic integration of the CIS countries. The Model laws on the Framework of Cooperation between Member Nations of the CIS in Tourism, on Child and Youth Tourism, on Tourist Services, on Social Tourism, on Ecotourism, as well as the Recommendations on the Establishment of Preferential Trade Regimes for Foreign Tourists under the Tax Free System and the Recommendations on the Compliance with Business Practices in the Field of Tourismin the CIS Member Nations have been adopted. These and other normative-legal documents are actively used in the legislation of the CIS countries.
