Wooster Green Dedication and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The Wooster Green Steering Committee in cooperation with The City of Bowling Green, the Historic Preservation Commission, and the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce announces the Dedication of the Donor Plaques for Wooster Green and a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony commemorating the placement of the Historical Markers, scheduled for Friday, August 16th, at 11:00 AM at the Wooster Green Gazebo.

The ceremony will feature a performance by Mike Williams on Saxophone, beginning at 11:00 AM. Following the musical prelude and the playing of the National Anthem by Mr. Williams, the official dedication will commence at 11:30 AM with Jerry Anderson as Emcee and the ribbon cutting with Mayor Mike Aspacher. The brief program will highlight the history of Wooster Green, recognize major donors to the fund-raising campaign, and re-cap current uses of the City-dedicated green space on the historic school site.

In addition to celebrating donors of the Wooster Green project, this event will mark the dedication of 16 new historical interpretive signs strategically placed throughout Bowling Green. These signs serve to honor and highlight the rich history of Bowling Green, offering residents and visitors alike an opportunity to learn more about the significant locations and events that have shaped Bowling Green.

"We are excited to celebrate the fruition of two monumental projects which countless individuals and organizations helped to complete," said Heather Sayler, Planning Director for the City of Bowling Green. "These additions not only beautify our city but also educate and inspire pride in our shared heritage."

The Bowling Green community is encouraged to attend this special event, which promises to be a memorable and enriching experience for all. Refreshments will be provided, and attendees will have the opportunity to engage with local leaders and historians.
