SMH Recognized Among World’s ‘Most Wired’ Hospitals

SARASOTA, Fla. (Oct. 25, 2024) - In a world where artificial intelligence, advanced technology and increasing cybersecurity threats are rapidly changing the healthcare landscape, Sarasota Memorial Health Care System (SMH) passed its 2024 digital health check-up with flying colors, once again earning a spot among the world's "Most Wired" hospitals.

SMH was spotlighted this week by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) in its global list of "Most Wired" hospitals for 2024 for adopting digital health systems and practices that promote safer care and more secure clinical and information technology systems.

According to CHIME, SMH ranks above its peers in critical categories such as analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure, and patient engagement. "We are proud to recognize your organization's exceptional dedication to digital health excellence," said CHIME President and CEO Russ Branzell. "This achievement extends beyond information technology, symbolizing a collective organizational commitment to enhancing healthcare through advanced digital health strategies."

One of the most extensive digital health benchmarking programs in the world, the "Most Wired" survey represents a comprehensive digital health checkup for over 45,000 facilities from 10 countries. SMH has repeatedly been recognized among the global "Most Wired" list for its commitment to and investment in digital health technology.

"Sarasota Memorial is pleased once again to be spotlighted among the industry's digital health leaders," said SMH Chief Information Officer Pam Ramhofer. "The continuing recognition is reflection of the commitment of our leadership and information technology teams to researching and advancing technology that safeguards and improves patient connectivity and care."
