SDFB to host Family Wellness Speaker and Safety Activities at Little Village Farm as Part of Summer Event Series

Families are invited to take part in safety education and hearing from rural health and wellness speaker, Karl Oehlke of Avera Health, at Little Village Farm on July 16, 2024, hosted by South Dakota Farm Bureau. The event begins at 4 p.m. and will include tours, safety activities, and a complimentary meal.

Little Village Farm is located at 47582 240th Street, Dell Rapids, and includes a collection of pieces from the rural past, big and small. In addition to touring the collection, attendees can take part in safety activities for kids and hear Oehlke, a farmer and physician assistant, talk about positive strategies to deal with stress.

The event is hosted by South Dakota Farm Bureau (SDFB) and county Farm Bureaus in District 2 as part of its Summer Event Series. The series includes various activities that county members organize in Farm Bureau districts to provide farmers and ranchers educational opportunities and access to top experts and thought leaders. All events are free and open to the public.

South Dakota Farm Bureau is divided into seven geographical districts. Each district is made up of counties in the respective area and is led by an elected district director who serves on the SDFB state Board of Directors. To view the counties in each district, view a map here.
