Acadia Parish - On November 4, 2024, Detectives with the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP SVU) began investigating a criminal complaint involving the sexual abuse of a child under the age of 13. The information received alleged that 41-year-old Julian 'Trey'AucoinIII of Rayne sexually abused the juvenile victim.
During the course of the investigation, Detectives discovered Aucoin participated in numerous acts of forced sexual contact with the minor over the span of two years. Based on their investigation, a warrant for Aucoin's arrest was obtained.
On November 26, 2024, LSP SVU, in conjunction with the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office, LSP Fugitive Apprehension Unit (LSP FAU), LSP Criminal Intelligence Unit (LSP CIU), and Attorney General Liz Murrill's Office, arrested Aucoin. He was booked into the Acadia Parish Corrections Facility on three counts of LA RS 14:42 First Degree Rape; Victim Under 13 Years of Age, LA RS 14:43.1 Sexual Battery, and LA RS 14:81 Indecent Behavior with Juveniles. This case remains under investigation.
LSP SVU works to rescue and seek justice for the victims of crimes involving the exploitation of children and the trafficking of humans for sex or labor through investigative partnerships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and through public education. The public plays an important role in identifying suspects accused of these crimes and is urged to report criminal or suspicious activity.
