11/20/2024

King of Prussia, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the bridge carrying Glen Riddle Road over Chrome Run Creek has reopened this afternoon following the completion of a $1.2 million project to replace the 92-year-old structure in Middletown Township, Delaware County.

Work began in April 2024 to replace the bridge with wider lanes and shoulders to improve travel and safety for the estimated 4,415 motorists who use this bridge daily. Other improvements include new signing, pavement markings, drainage, and guiderail.

Richard E. Pierson Construction Co., Inc. of Woodstown, New Jersey, was the general contractor on the project, which was financed with 100 percent state funds.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways including color-coded winter conditions, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
