South Llano Street Bridge Ribbon Cutting Set for October 15

Fredericksburg, Texas - The City of Fredericksburg, in partnership with the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce, will host a ribbon cutting and ceremonial walk for the South Llano Street Shared-Use Bridge on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 2 p.m.

City staff, elected officials, TxDOT representatives and construction workers from J3 Company will be on hand to officially open the bridge. The event will take place at 306 S. Llano St.

The bridge spans Barons Creek from East Creek St. to South Llano St. and connects Fredericksburg's Historic Shopping District with Old Fair Park, H-E-B and the developing Warehouse District.

The bridge was made possible through a 2021 TxDOT grant of $902,748 in federal funds through the Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program (TASA) and a contribution from HAMUK, LLC as part of the Chapter 380 Development Agreement with the City of Fredericksburg.

After the main portion of the bridge was lifted into place on July 17, construction has continued to provide pedestrian and other non-vehicular connectivity throughout the area. Bridge construction began in June 2024 and will continue in the area through November.
