Chief Operating Officer Dasewicz Underscores DFC Commitment to European Energy Security at P-TECC Ministerial in Romania

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation's (DFC) Chief Operating Officer (COO) Agnes Dasewicz traveled to Bucharest, Romania, for the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy and Climate Cooperation (P-TECC) Ministerial from July 22-23. At the conference, she announced DFC's first disbursement under a financing agreement for up to $300 million for the Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund (3SIIF) to support energy and infrastructure development in Central and Eastern Europe.

COO Dasewicz's announcement demonstrates DFC's continued commitment to enhancing regional energy security and independence, and facilitating the energy transition in the Three Seas region. DFC's investment in 3SIIF will also help reduce the region's dependence on Russian energy exports and accelerate its path toward a clean energy future.

While at the Ministerial, COO Dasewicz signed a letter of interest (LOI) with RoPower for potential support of its work with small modular reactors. This LOI extends upon the original LOI signed in 2023 and demonstrates DFC's willingness to continue building on the progress made by RoPower on this project. COO Dasewicz participated in a panel where she emphasized DFC's commitment to supporting the region's energy transition and identified opportunities to invest in greener cities. She also joined a roundtable with business leaders to discuss DFC's investment tools and opportunities to work together to support the region's energy objectives.
