The Critical Agriculture Research and Extension or CARE program (AFRI 1701) in the AFRI Foundational and Applied Science RFA, addresses critical challenges and opportunities to improve the Nation's agricultural and food systems and address issues that need immediate attention. CARE enhances partnerships and coordination among researchers, extension experts, and practitioners in food and agricultural enterprises, leading to practices that may be readily and rapidly adopted by end-users. Nineteen proposals from across the US were selected for funding varying from pathogen and pest management to the risk of PFAS contamination in livestock forage.
