RUC Co-organizes the 2024 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit

From November 19th to 22nd, the 2024 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit was held in Wuzhen, Zhejiang, with the theme "Embracing a People-Centric, Intelligent, and Benevolent Digital Future - Joining Hands to Build a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace."

RUC hosted the Cyber Law Forum and the Financial Technology Forum, and co-hosted the Youth and Digital Future Forum.

During the main forum, the Global Youth Leaders Program certificate awarding ceremony, the launch ceremony of the World Internet Conference Digital Research Institute, and the launch ceremony of the World Internet Conference Think Tank Cooperation Program were held. Over 1800 attendees, including leaders of important international organizations, representatives from Chinese and foreign governments, global internet industry leaders, well-known experts and scholars, and media personnel, participated in the conference.

Lin Shangli, President of RUC, attended and delivered speeches at the Cyber Law Forum and the Financial Technology Forum. Zheng Shuiquan, Vice Chair of the University Council , attended and delivered a speech at the Youth and Digital Future Forum. Huang Wenyi, Zhang Jiyu, and Ding Xiaodong , who are professors from the Law School of RUC chaired the Cyber Law Forum, and Dean Yang Dong made a keynote speech at the Financial Technology Forum.

At the main forum, the World Internet Conference Digital Research Institute was launched, with RUC being one of the cooperating units. Zheng Shuiquan accepted the plaque on behalf of the university.

The World Internet Conference Digital Research Institute is an international research and training platform built for governments, social organizations, and corporate management in developing countries around the world. By focusing on hot areas of international concern such as artificial intelligence, data, security and emergency, and cross-border e-commerce, it carries out international and thematic training to cultivate professional talents with a broad international perspective, cutting-edge digital thinking, and advanced digital skills. It empowers the digital transformation of global small and medium-sized enterprises, promotes the vigorous development of the digital economy, and shares the dividends of inclusive development.

The Cyber Law Forum, themed "Cyber Law in the Age of Artificial Intelligence," was hosted by RUC, co-organized by the Law School of RUC and JD.com, and supported by the RUC Institute for Future Rule of Law and the International Digital Law Association. Experts and scholars from domestic and foreign government departments, universities and research institutions, representatives of internet companies, and media journalists attended the forum.

In his speech, Lin Shangli stated that cyber law is the demand of the times for the development of the information revolution and an important guarantee for the construction of a strong cyber nation. This forum focuses on cyber law in the age of artificial intelligence, which is of great significance for improving the level of artificial intelligence security governance, guiding artificial intelligence to do good, and ensuring the safe and controllable development of artificial intelligence. RUC will contribute wisdom and strength to the theoretical innovation and practical development of the field of artificial intelligence law and join hands to build a community with a shared future in cyberspace.

The Financial Technology Forum, themed "Financial Technology in the Age of Digital Intelligence," was co-hosted by RUC, Nankai University, and Ping An Group, with over a hundred guests from government departments, international organizations, enterprises, and universities attending the forum.

In his speech, Lin Shangli stated that finance is the lifeblood of the national economy and an important part of the country's core competitiveness. This forum discusses financial technology in the age of digital intelligence, pooling ideas and contributing wisdom. RUC will focus on promoting a more open, inclusive, inclusive, and secure financial new ecosystem through financial technology, and make a greater contribution to promoting high-quality financial development.

The Youth and Digital Future Forum, themed "Caring for Human Development, Connecting a Shared Destiny, and Moving Towards a Better Future," was hosted by the World Internet Conference, and co-hosted by RUC and the Indian Youth Leaders United Nations. Representatives from government departments, international organizations, well-known enterprises, universities and research institutions, and global youth leaders attended the forum.

In his speech, Zheng Shuiquan stated that new technologies and applications such as artificial intelligence are booming, promoting the acceleration of the new technological and industrial revolution. In the digital era, it is necessary to stimulate the innovative vitality of youth, gather the wisdom of global youth, and promote global digital governance.
