ACL Awards Grant to Better Understand the Capacity of the Aging Network

September 24, 2024

ACL is pleased to announce the awarding of a $250,000 grant to USAging to continue the Information and Planning: Understanding the Capacity of the Aging Network activities for a new three-year cycle. The project will include documenting and reporting on the activities and expertise of area agencies on aging (AAAs) and tribal organizations in delivering community-based services and supports.

AAAs and tribal organizations serve over 11 million older Americans and caregivers each year. The aging network is part of every community in the nation, playing a vital role in strategic planning, program development and administration, and service delivery.

ACL consistently seeks to increase understanding of how AAAs, tribal organizations, and other agencies are adapting, enhancing, and expanding services and supports to meet current and future needs of older adults and their caregivers. Previous projects of this type produced the national AAA survey and Title VI survey, which provide significant insights into the dynamic work of the aging and tribal services networks.
