In the News: Buffalo State Alumni Food Drive Featured on WGRZ

A food drive organized by Buffalo State University alumni during the university's annual Homecoming Week was recently featured on WGRZ-TV 2, as alumni donated canned goods and clothing to different pantries across the city.

The WGRZ segment, "Buffalo State Alumni Give Back with Food Drive," which aired September 27, interviewed the drive's organizer Daren "Doc" Thomas, '90.

"We had some sponsors that donated cans, even if they couldn't be here for the Homecoming," Thomas said. "We had a few members come in and drop the cans off, just giving back to the community."

Thomas added that a lot of alumni still live in Buffalo, and many came to town for Homecoming Week. Buffalo State hosted a variety of activities throughout the week, culminating with a football game in which the Buffalo State Bengals defeated the Alfred State Pioneers 12-0.
