DECEMBER 11, 2024 - Editor's note: The following message was sent via email from UTSA President Taylor Eighmy , Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Heather Shipley and Executive Vice President for Business Affairs and Chief Enterprise Development Officer Veronica Salazar to all faculty, staff and students.
It has been an extraordinarily busy season, filled with many opportunities for the growth and advancement of our university, but with some challenges too.
As we close out this semester, we want to take a moment to celebrate how far we have come as a campus community. From our graduates preparing to walk the stage at our Fall 2024 Commencement ceremonies and our Roadrunner football team securing a spot in this year's Myrtle Beach Bowl, to our exciting progress toward integration with UT Health San Antonio - we have so much to be hopeful for as a Roadrunner family.
At the same time, we recognize that this semester has also been a time of struggle for many in our Roadrunner community. Grief, stress and numerous demands continue to weigh heavily on many of our students, faculty and staff. We want to acknowledge there is still work to be done around well-being on our campus, and as we look forward to 2025, it remains one of our highest priorities.
We want to thank you for staying engaged and sharing input as we continue to work on enhancing well-being for our campus community. Whether you are a student or a member of our faculty or staff, please know that we have free resources available to support you 24/7.
These efforts will continue to evolve as we focus on providing enhanced programming, training, additional resources and partnering with outside organizations to strengthen our collective foundation for wellbeing at UTSA. Together, we'll continue building a brighter and healthier future for our Roadrunner community.
We encourage you to take time over the winter break to celebrate your accomplishments, recharge and prepare to embrace the upcoming spring semester with renewed focus and energy.
