By Nick ScottTRFB

Silverdale, Wash. -

Lyndee Cowan took over as the Quality Assurance (QA) director, Trident Refit Facility, Bangor (TRFB), in August, 2024.

Cowan began her federal career at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) as a welder apprentice in 2001. In 2008 Cowan took her first QA position as a nuclear inspector and then transitioned to a non-nuclear auditor from 2009 to 2014.

Cowan moved on from there to be the radiological control (RADCON) auditor from 2014 to 2016, nuclear contamination control functional area lead from 2016 to 2017 and then again transitioned to a non-nuclear auditor from 2017 to 2020.

From there, Cowan came to TRFB in January, 2021 and held the position of deputy QA director until 2024, when she became selected for QA director.

A local, Cowan is a graduate of Kitsap High School and Olympic College, both located in Kitsap County, Washington.

Cowan lives with her husband of 24 years with whom she raised one adult daughter. She also has two grandchildren and two pets.

"When I came to TRFB almost four years ago, I had heard that this place was the 'country club'", said Cowan. "To me that sounded like a leisurely place to work, however, what I have witnessed are some of the hardest working individuals who have a firm understanding of the important work we accomplish here."

I have seen our team do amazing things and look forward to continuing those efforts. I am thankful that I have been able to make a career here in my hometown and am proud to be a part of team at TRFB," said Cowan.
