Domestic dispute leads to arrest in Cortland County

On September 22, 2024, at approximately 4:29 p.m., New York State Police at Homer arrested Dillin R. Wilcox, age 32 of Marathon, NY for the class "D" felony of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree, the class "E" felony of Menacing in the first degree and the misdemeanor of Criminal Obstruction of Breathing.

A Trooper was dispatched by the Cortland County 911 Center to a report of a domestic dispute on State Route 221 in Marathon. An investigation revealed that Wilcox, engaged in an argument with a victim that turned physical. The investigation further revealed that Wilcox chocked the victim and threatened to harm the victim while displaying a knife.

The victim was able to leave the residence before Troopers arrived, but Wilcox refused to exit the residence for about an hour. He ultimately exited his residence and was arrested.

Wilcox was transported to SP Homer where he was processed then transported to the Cortland County Correctional Facility for Centralized Arraignment.

The victim was checked out by EMT's on scene but was not transported to a hospital.
