Press Release

On September 16, 2024, State Police of Saratoga, with the assistance of Troop G Computer Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Taskforce, arrested Deane Pratt, 40, of Stillwater, NY, for three counts of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance, Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, eight counts of Unlawful Surveillance in the second degree, six counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

On January 30, 2024, State Police began an investigation stemming from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). This investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at Pratt's Stillwater home on April 18, 2024. While reviewing evidence seized during that search, multiple images consistent with the exploitation of a child and nonconsensual surveillance were discovered. Further investigation determined Pratt allegedly concealed an imaging device and captured images of both adults and children in a bathroom at his Stillwater home. The victims involved were unaware of the device and did not consent.

Pratt was arrested and processed at SP Saratoga. He was arraigned at the Stillwater Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 cash, $200,000 bond, or a $750,000 partially secured bond.
