Comprehensive Plan Survey

In October, community open houses were held throughout the City to share information on Character Districts, proposed changes to Overlay Districts, Planning Area narratives, Special Policy Areas, and future updates to the Master Transportation Plan. If you didn't get to attend a meeting, you can view the information below and then provide your feedback through a survey that is open now.

Proposed Character Districts - View the proposed Character Districts map and learn the key features of each type.

Proposed Overlay District Changes - The proposed 2045 Overlay Districts include an expansion of the Urban Overlay in the Deep Creek area and an expansion of the Rural Overlay to include portions of the Sunray Agricultural Historic District. Planning Areas - Planning Areas have their own history, character, style, and interests. Learn about Chesapeake's ten planning areas and let us know if you think we captured them accurately.

Special Policy Areas - While the Comprehensive Plan covers the entire City of Chesapeake, additional planning efforts provide more details and specific recommendations in certain areas. View the Special Policy Area map.

Master Transportation Plan - An update of the Master Transportation Plan is coming soon. View the current Master Transportation Plan and provide your suggested updates through the survey.
