West Nile virus detected in mosquitos in Santa Ana

The Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District has confirmed mosquito samples infected with West Nile virus (WNV) in Santa Ana, in an area bordered by Garden Grove Boulevard, the Santa Ana River, Trask Avenue and Fairview Street. OC Vector Control inspectors will be out in the area to check known sources of mosquito breeding and to try to identify any unknown sources.

Please take precautions when outdoors, such as wearing pants and long sleeves and using mosquito repellent, especially when mosquitoes are most active (dawn or dusk).
