Local 1505-Winnipeg, MB had a ceremony to dedicate a memorial for our late Local 1505 Brother Irvine 'Jubal' Fraser

Wednesday, August 28, 2024

Today in Winnipeg, MB, our Local 1505 had a ceremony to dedicate a permanent memorial for our late Local 1505 Brother Irvine 'Jubal' Fraser, a Winnipeg Transit bus operator, who was tragically killed by an angry rider on the job in February 2017.

The permanent memorial was created by the Local with support from the University of Manitoba because over the years other memorials were vandalized or destroyed by weather.

With the increasing violence on public transit across North America, this memorial serves as a reminder of the importance of ensuring the safety of our members, riders, and all transit workers because everyone deserves to get home safely after a hard day's work. May our Brother Irvine 'Jubal" Fraser rest in power.
