NEW INFORMATION

The City of Fort Pierce remains dedicated to ensuring a smooth recovery and is pleased to announce the reopening schedule for various city facilities following the impacts of Hurricane Milton:

  • Indian Hills Golf Course:Reopened today, Friday, October 11, 2024.
  • City of Fort Pierce Marina:Reopened today, Friday, October 11, 2024.
  • Fort Pierce Animal Adoption Center:Reopening on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
  • River Walk Center:Reopening on Sunday, October 13, 2024.
  • City Hall, the Building Department, the Police Department, the Sunrise Theatre, and the Recreation Center:Reopening on Monday, October 14, 2024.

Solid Waste Update:

Trash and recycling services were temporarily suspended on Thursday, October 10. Residents will receive service on their next scheduled pick-up day. Regular trash collection has resumed today, Friday, October 11.

Please place vegetative yard debris (branches, leaves) and storm-related debris (fencing, roofing materials) in separate piles at the curb, at least 3 to 5 feet away from any obstructions such as mailboxes, vehicles, or utility poles.

Power Outages / FPUA Updates:

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Fort Pierce Utilities Authority for their tireless efforts in restoring power to residents and businesses. At this time, 98% of FPUA customers have had their power restored.

Communication:

The City of Fort Pierce encourages residents to stay informed by checking updates on the city's website, social media platforms, and Fort Pierce TV Channel 27. Additionally, residents can sign up for emergency notifications through St. Lucie County's Alert St. Lucie program at www.stlucieco.gov/Alert.

Shelter Operations:

  • Havert L. Fenn Center (Resource Center): 2000 Virginia Ave., Fort Pierce - Currently the only shelter open.

St. Lucie County Updates:

  • A Multi-Resource Agency Center (MARC) will open on Saturday, October 12, at 9:00 AM at the Havert L. Fenn Center, 2000 Virginia Ave., to assist St. Lucie County residents affected by Hurricane Milton. The MARC will operate daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Agencies on-site include Hope Navigators, the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, the Florida Department of Health, and the Florida Department of Children & Families. The State Emergency Response Team will also distribute a limited number of tarps to residents.
  • Residents are encouraged to document storm damage through the self-reporting portal: https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/e5d5cb7556f2464787f6e94e38c664da.
  • St. Lucie County offices, including the Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, Clerk & Comptroller, Supervisor of Elections, Public Defender, State Attorney, and 19th Judicial Circuit's Office, will reopen on Monday, October 14.

We will continue to coordinate with state and local partners to expedite cleanup efforts and restore full operations as soon as possible. Residents are encouraged to stay vigilant and monitor the City's official website at www.cityoffortpierce.com and social media for the latest updates.
