Rosen Helps Introduce Bipartisan Legislation to Better Inform Students on Military Career Options

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) helped introduce bipartisan legislation to assist states in accessing military enlistment data to better inform students about military careers. The Military and Educational Data Integration Act would require the Department of Defense to create a data-sharing program to enable state education systems to access military enlistment data to allow high schools to more accurately track the outcomes of students who choose a career in the military after graduation.

"Joining the military is one of the most honorable and selfless decisions anyone can make, and it opens the door to a wide variety of fields and career paths," said Senator Rosen. "I'm proud to introduce this bipartisan bill to better inform students about their military career options."

Senator Rosen has been a leader in the Senate supporting Nevada's servicemembers and their families. She recently helped introduce the bipartisan READINESS Act to support military spouses and their families by creating more job flexibility when a servicemember relocates to a new duty station. Last year, Senator Rosen announced her support for the bipartisan Military Spouse Hiring Act to improve hiring opportunities for military spouses. Earlier this year, during a confirmation hearing in the Senate Armed Services Committee, she secured a commitment from General David Allvin, then-Air Force Chief of Staff nominee, to cut red tape in a program designed to make child care available for military families like Airmen at Nellis and Creech Air Force Bases who work overnight shifts.
