Reception for New Chief of Police

The City of Fort Madison is hosting a reception for the Cody Potthast, who has recently been announced as the next chief of police. The reception will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Fort Madison City Hall's Council Chambers. The reception will be from 2:00 -3:00 pm. At this time, Mr. Potthast will be sworn into his position as chief of police by Mayor Mohrfeld during the reception.

Cody Potthast has served as a captain for the Fort Madison Police Department since January 2022. Prior to coming to Fort Madison, Mr. Potthast served in several organizations in law enforcement in Nebraska, including the Nebraska State Patrol.
