Man Charged With Attempted Murder Following Firearms Discharge, Leeds

A Leeds man was due to appear before magistrates this morning after being charged following a firearms discharge in the city.

Patson Mafaune (25) of Servia Drive, Leeds was charged to appear before Leeds Magistrates Court today (27 July) as detectives continue to investigate a shooting which caused damage to a vehicle on Burley Road on Thursday July 25.

The 25-year-old was charged with offences of Attempted Murder, Possession of a Firearm with Intent to Endanger Life and Dangerous Driving.

Officers from the Homicide and Major Enquiry team continue to appeal for information and footage regarding the discharge which took place at about 5.10pm and did not result in anyone being injured.

They have also arrested a 25-year old man on suspicion of attempted murder, who remains in police custody at this time.

A 23-year-old man who was arrested on July 25 in connection with the firearms discharge has been released on police bail.
