Detectives Investigate Shooting in Northgate

Detectives are investigating a shooting in a Northgate neighborhood.

Saturday shortly before 12:00 a.m., 911 Dispatch (CARE) received reports of a shooting at Aurora Avenue North and North Northgate Way. Officers arrived and found an 18-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Aid was provided and Seattle Fire Department transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

During the investigation police discovered that the female was standing north of North 105th Street on Aurora Avenue North. An unidentified car approached the woman and the occupant(s) shot, striking the victim. The suspect vehicle fled the scene shortly after the shooting.

Gun Violence Reduction Unit detectives arrived will be leading the investigation.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation and no suspects have been taken into custody at this time.
