The Valdosta Fire Department (VFD) is thrilled to host its annual Shop with a Firefighter event on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 6 to 9 PM at Walmart on Norman Drive. This heartwarming initiative spreads holiday cheer and supports local families facing tough times, including those impacted by structure fires and natural disasters.
Thanks to generous donors like you, VFD provides children aged 4 to 12 with a magical shopping experience they'll never forget. Families are identified through collaboration with the American Red Cross, ensuring that assistance reaches those who need it most.
"Our firefighters look forward to this event every year. It's an opportunity to bring smiles to children's faces while building strong connections within our community," said Fire Chief Brian Boutwell. "It's not just about the gifts; it's about spreading hope and kindness during Christmas."
Firefighters accompany children and their families during the shopping trip, serving as mentors and creating lasting holiday memories. Your donation makes all the difference.
