On September 18, 2024, State Police members arrested Matthew C. Labrake, age 38, of Malone, NY, for grand larceny 4th and obstruction of governmental administration 2nd.

On August 10, 2024, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Troopers were informed of an incident that occurred on August 8, 2024, at a residence located on Windmill Lane in the town of Malone. An investigation determined that Labrake stole the victim's vehicle and purse while the victim was at the hospital.

Matthew had active warrants from different agencies. State Police and other agencies actively attempted to locate Labrake. Labrake was located and taken into custody by the Massena Police Department. Labrake was turned over to State Police, arrested, and transported to SP Malone for processing. While at SP Malone, Labrake would not cooperate or listen to commands from the Troopers to be fingerprinted. He was arraigned in the Town of Brandon Court, where he was remanded to Franklin County Jail.
