WHAT:
Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings, County Commissioners, and the Mayor's Veterans Advisory Council will honor local veterans and active-duty members of the United States Armed Forces with a Veterans Day ceremony. The Orange County Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at the Orange County Administration Center front lawn on November 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
The one-hour ceremony will be led by the Orange County Mayor's Veterans Advisory Council Chair, Fred Robinson, Sergeant United States Marine Corps. The program will include performances by local high school students, and a proclamation presented by Mayor Demings.
The keynote speaker is Retired U.S. Army Colonel Annette Tucker Osborne. Dr. Osborne is the President of the National Association of Black Military Women, overseeing all NABMW association chapters in the United States. Dr. Osborne is 29-year veteran of the U.S. Army. Her assignments included a mission in El Salvador and Operation Enduring Freedom in Kuwait. Dr. Osborne received 15 separate commendations for her service, including the Legion of Merit.
In addition, all veterans and active-duty members will receive special recognition from Mayor Demings and the Veterans Advisory Council members.
